It's all about the bike
It's all about the bike
The perfect time of year to be in the Hill Country of Texas! In the spring with bluebonnets and perfect weather. All year it's scenic byways, smooth roads,.....
Your accommodations are just a stone's throw from downtown Fredericksburg. These two rustic but new cabins have all the amenities of home! We’re right in the heart of the best cycling in Texas!
Our cycling camp includes 3 fresh breakfasts and 2 dinners prepared by your coach. As we're on the bike during the day we will always stop for lunch at a quaint Texas café. Oh, and coffee.
You may arrive anytime after 3 pm on Friday. You must provide your own transportation. The conclusion of the camp will be at 10am on Monday.
The main reason you want to go: the cycling. We will be your guide for each ride. There will be one group and we will always stay together. Ride pace is moderate and there are sections of elevation. The beauty of each ride is that it's Texas like you've never seen before!
Your Camp includes at least one ride each day (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) of various distances and elevation. Besides riding, we have 8 acres on which to explore and billiards games at home. We also have excursions to the Enchanted Rock State Park and downtown Fredericksburg. Not to mention the perfect star-gazing at night!
The massive pink granite dome rising above Central Texas has drawn people for thousands of years. But there’s more at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area than just the dome. The scenery, rock formations and legends are magical, too! We'll schedule some down-time to climb the ancient dome for amazing Hill Country views.
We have never had an issue with crime in Fredericksburg. It would be no surprise if “dog at large” makes “crime of the week.” The police officers and firefighters keep us safe.
Many more festivals than most places typically have. From a gourd festival to a crayfish festival or an antique car rally ... they’ve got it! In fact, we found at least 29 events happening the weekend of our Camp.
Hopefully we won't need it, but Fredericksburg has over ONE HUNDRED doctors on staff at their award-winning hospital. Most towns this size struggle to attract a handful of doctors.
Main Street is home to over 150 unique shops, boutiques, and art galleries. Shopaholics rejoice!
Although we're cooking at home at almost every meal, Fredericksburg does have over 60 restaurants. With a plethora of dining options—from mom and pop burger joints to intimate bistros to world class dining. If you’re feeling peckish, this is the place to be!
The Texas Hill Country is home to over 50 wineries and vineyards and Fredericksburg is the epicenter of Texas Wine Country. There are more than 40 wineries and tasting rooms located in Fredericksburg and Gillespie County, not to mention dozens more wineries located within an hour or two drive of Fredericksburg.
For cyclists, Fredericksburg is nirvana. Perched on U.S. Highway 290 and surrounded, for the most part, by privately-owned ranches, the area is pristine for riding. Paved roadways venture out in all directions where vehicle traffic is minimal and the scenery is simply amazing! To some, Fredericksburg is considered to be the cycling capital of Texas.
